Flying Solo: SS21 Paris Fashion Week

The global pandemic didn’t deter designers from presenting collections with the Flying Solo showcase at Salons Marceau, a few meters away from the iconic Arc de Triomphe.

In case you were unaware, this is the place to be for fashion of the future as ever popular curated incubator, Flying Solo, gives emerging designers opportunities for retail presence at their swanky boutique, showroom representation for editorial and celebrity pulls and runway show opportunities during Paris Fashion Week.

Founded by designers themselves in 2016, in just 4 years since opening, Flying Solo has proved to be one of the biggest fashion platforms launching the careers of many independent designers.

The incubator is a membership-based retail service with over 200+ current members and a waitlist of over 1,500 brands collaborating in order to create a thriving retail industry that works for the most innovative designers and brands.

The director and co-founder of Flying Elizabeth Solomeina commented, “We are excited to present again in Paris and grow this market. There is an insatiable desire among top industry professionals to discover emerging talent and Flying Solo is providing designers with a high-end platform to showcase collections to top tier media, influencers, stylists, buyers, and tastemakers.”

A curated collection of over 20 designers from all over the globe presented collections amongst a socially distant and masked crowd eager to feel a sense of normal and discover design talent. The show offered those not able to travel to Paris Fashion Week a livestream bringing guests a truly physical and digital ‘phygital’ experience, we have grown to adjust to.

Taking place at the Salon Marceau at the City of Lights, steps away from the iconic Arc de Triomphe, the presentation show featured collections of clothing, accessories, jewellery, and shoes amid a packed house of top media, influencers, stylists, and industry mavens. Flying Solo’s unique collective show has become a revolutionary concept shaking up the fashion world; attracting more and more of fashion’s elite to take a peek at some of the design world’s best-emerging talent.

Designer’s collections offered something for every taste from stunning evening wear from April + Alex to millinery creations from Miss Haidee Millinery, to streetwear from That Gorilla Brand.

Styled by head stylist Alina Kotsiuba, the presentation gave attendees a real window onto looks trending from all corners of the globe.

We love the concept and hope to see it bring more emerging talent to our runways for the future.
